God’s Work !

It is widely acclaimed that travelling is a great source of education. I fully endorse this view. It is not only education which adds to your knowledge, skill and attitude but also escalates values and dispositions. This particular trip to Amritsar and back had quite an impact.

There is another aspect of our daily work, visits and experiences. We need to apply and take a follow up. On some aspects we must act on the feedback and feed forwards. These accounts again help to share insights and enhance awareness. Also there are silent warriors going ahead with their work despite the struggles and challenges; they have little desire to fame as well. We get to know that we have such great people also in our society!

On my return trip from Amritsar, I came via Hoshiarpur. Here my coursemate and his team are engaged in something phenomenal. As Col Gurmeet mentions these children as messengers of God; I believe that the process of reciprocity is also true! These good samaritans at this set up are doing God’s work. It is one thing that God has created such Special people; it is another that they have found equally if not more capable and devoted people to look after them. One can hardly be grateful enough to these men and women who look after and take care of the students in this Special School. You may have money but the energy and dedication can not be exchanged for money!

It was such a humbling experience for me and my daughter Pranati. We felt fortunate and happy that we had this opportunity to be with them and share their happiness for a while.

“We need no pity, we need opportunity”; no wonder this was written in bold letters on the wall. It is not only literally but metaphorically that this statement holds good for these blessed people.

I must compliment the Management, the Principal, Special Educators and all the administrative staff who are doing yeoman’s service at the Centre. No words can express the sentiments and gratitude that they so rightly deserve. It is also quite satisfying that public at large and the parents have been very supportive in this ardent endeavour of the Management. Hat’s off and salute to my dear friend Col Gurmeet. Gratitude to all the contributors and well-wishers of this labour of love created and nurtured by some amazing people with profound sense of courage and devotion.

I take a bow and call upon the fraternity to engage with them and support them in this more than just a noble cause.
